Budgewoi is a semi-rural and coastal village on the area known as the Central Coast of New South Wales. It is a quiet and well-ordered little place nestled among wind-swept dunes with the Tasman Sea on one side and Lake Munmorah and Budgewoi Lake on the other sides. Most people who pass through this place know it as a bridge across a salt-water channel . In places it is no more than a spit of land a hundred meters wide. Some of the village is low, reclaimed swamp and sees floods many times a year.
The idea of this little blog is to find and publish bits and pieces of information about the town of Budgewoi and its surrounding region. It is taking longer than expected to get the initial research in place but bits of history are emerging so there should be a category for them. There is a website about the spiders on one property at Budgewoi and as it is considered a good general site for the identification of spiders in this part of Australia generally there will a link to the site rather than specific mention of any one species. Over time the site should grow to be quite interesting. This little village has had a heart and soul which many people only rarely get to see or know much about. Here is hoping this site can give a bit of the magic and depth back to the way we think of this town
