The old convenience store was a hub of activity for many of the people who lived on the far side of the channel from the main shopping strip of Budgewoi and its closure was a shock for everyone. A store like this means the locals can grab a few little things they need without trudging across the bridge to the supermarket and adds a lot to the ease of life. The whole Budgewoi circle is an idyllic place for people who know the secret. The eateries hidden in this delightful niche range from the high end Italian pizza shop with wood burning pizza oven and ground coffee, wine and so on. There are prize winning fish and chip shops, Thai cuisine, excellent cafes and another pizza store.
Apart from all the food there is the best bait and tackle shop in the country. All just a couple of minutes from the sea and lakes
The Convenience Store is being brought back to life by Roger who is doing a little more than just re-opening the doors with a lick of paint.
The cafe will run out to tables on the street and widen the range of food available in the Budgewoi circle.
In the few months since it opened there has been a range of food such as hamburgers and sandwiches added to the menu.
There is an internet cafe as well as free wifi
